Be a Safe Families

Church

Living the Gospel

At Safe Families for Children, we deeply believe that the Church is not merely an institution or a building, but a gathering of God’s people called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. The Church – not Safe Families – has been and always will be His primary means of bringing hope and healing to our world. That’s why Safe Families isn’t about our organization becoming the hero of the story – it’s about equipping your church to live out its calling.

Your congregation already has the God-given capacity for radical hospitality, compassion fueled by mercy, and disruptive generosity. Our role is simply to provide a framework and pathway that enables your people to have tangible ways to care for vulnerable children and isolated families in crisis. The goal is to keep more families together.

“One of our core convictions from the very beginning was to be a community that practices biblical hospitality. We wanted to be a church known for how we love and care for the outsider, the marginalized, and the disenfranchised. In an effort to give our people simple and tangible ways to live this out, we partnered with Safe Families.”

Resurrecting Biblical Hospitality

Safe Families for Children is a movement fueled by thousands of families who practice biblical hospitality. By opening their homes they are caring for vulnerable children whose parents or guardians are struggling with unmanageable circumstances. This work isn’t possible without the commitment of hundreds of churches all across the country. Through Safe Families for Children, your church can be putting its faith into action to surround families with compassionate care to help children stay safe and out of foster care. The scriptures lead us to make room in our busy, well-protected lives to minister to others and help a stranger. In early church times, hospitality was considered dangerous and even radical, yet it served as a foundational ministry.
Today, Safe Families remains integrally linked to local churches. Churches of all sizes play roles in providing for the less fortunate families in their communities. The church is reemerging as a champion for families in need, even as our society faces legal and governmental constraints and depleting resources.
